I don't read as much as I should but the books I found great reads were "American Psycho", "Perfume", "We Need to Talk About Kevin" "The Lovely Bones" (the last two much better as books than the subsequent movies). Also some classics which I read from school: "Pride & Prejudice", "The Mayor of Casterbridge", Shakespeare's "Othello".I like interesting or intriguing/dramatic plots and situations, and a concise writing style that grips you (Brett Easton Ellis, who wrote American Psycho, is good at that).I also like to read spiritual or philosophical stuff, occasionally new age and the odd biography if I'm interested in someone famous. I'm not a science type but Bill Bryson's "Brief History of Nearly Everything" is a good read and informative. As a kid I liked "The Black Stallion", horsey or animal stories.
